using a table saw for long cut?

Can I use a table saw to make this cut? Do I have to remove the kickback protector to do it? Seems the wood will strike the backside of this about 12 inches in. How to remove scratches from marble table?

Upon inspection, I noticed a slight red stain, which I removed with a cleaning sponge, but unfortunately used the abrasive side of the sponge. How to protect the finish on a dining table?
